October 8, 2008
The regular meeting of the Randall City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Deputy Mayor Adamski. Councilman Carter and Councilwoman Venske were present. Mayor Riitters and Councilman Andres were absent.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as presented.
Motion by Carter 2nd by Venske to approve all bills presented for the month. Carried
Jerry Peterschick informed the council that there were some residences that the city failed to inform Long Prairie Sanitary Service of vacancy, therefore, the city was getting charged for garbage/recycling pick-up. Peterschick submitted a list of changes to Long Prairie and they were gracious enough to reimburse the city for those errors.
There was a short discussion on alternative ideas for the landscaping in front of the fire hall and the liquor store. It was mentioned that perhaps wood shavings would be a better idea than rock. This will be discussed further at the next meeting.
Angie Magee briefly spoke to the council about the planning of a skatepark in the city. She stated that a portion of the horseshoe pits would be a better area for the park and would eliminate expense for lighting and fence as both are already there. Half of the horseshoe pits would remain. Magee will give a presentation to the council at November’s meeting when all members are present.
The planning and zoning committee approved four permits this month:
Lorraine Altrichter-12’x15’ storage shed to be moved on to property
Steve Wright-28’x32’ garage in place of existing one
Danny Fischer-10’x18’ deck on house
Clint Schuett-12’x25’ unattached lean/wood shed on North side of garage
Motion by Venske 2nd by Carter to approve the permits. Carried
Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
