Special Public Meeting August 15, 2013

Meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. at the Fire Hall meeting room by Mayor Riitters and all council members present.  City Manager Jerry Peterschick and City Waste Water Supervisor Dan Thilquist were also present.

Meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming retirement of Dan Thilquist. Dan indicated he plans on retiring on January 17, 2014, which will be his 62nd birthday. He also indicated that he would be able to work as a consultant for 20 hours per month at the cost of $600. The council agreed to this proposal.

Dan inquired about payment for accrued vacation. The council agreed to pay Dan for his remaining vacation.

The council decided to advertise the position as soon as possible for a full time employee. Licensing will be a requirement but not necessary for time of hiring. The licensing will need to be a B Wastewater License and a D Water License.

The anticipated date for filling the position will be middle of November to December 1, 2013 time frame. Dan Noss, Jerry Peterschick, Jerry Adamski, and Dan Thilquist will meet to put a job description together and for advertising to be approved at the next council meeting.
